Light & Love

The heart explodes with strong desire.  What desire fills yours?  Who do you allow to fill it?

It has been about three years since the first time I set foot on English soil.  The funny thing is, my heart feels like it's been here much longer.  I never could have expected how following God's call to go to England could have completed my heart so fully.  Or rather, opened up a new divot that could only be filled with the people I had never even met yet.

if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

God speaks this to Solomon to share how the people of God can appeal to the heart of God through these actions.  Through Jesus, we are made into children of God.  But how can we know that Truth if we are never told?  A heart for sharing the Gospel, for a Christian, shouldn't be optional.

Two years ago, there were rarely any people that we spoke to in the community with which we worked who knew the name of Jesus.  Sometimes, not even the name of God.  Over the past two years, I have been able to build up some relationships with friends of all ages here in England.  It is a love for them and a love for God that seems to keep pulling me back to this place.  I fully believe that God has given me a love for the people who live here that is beyond a love I could muster up on my own.  Because of this, I just desire more than anything for my friends to have the gift of an eternity with God, that Christ declares is for all who believe in Him.

For those who would like, I intend to share ways in which God uses this ministry through blogs!  My intentions are to post Monday weekly, with the disclaimer that variations may happen.  Hopefully though, these postings will bring encouragement to all who are seeking to see Jesus in action!

I have returned again with a team of 11 other people from Miss. State University, and we will work two weeks with the families on the 'estate' that houses the community.  (For the American audience, an estate is equivalent to government housing in America.  Not quite the vision that an American estate would provide- in fact, probably the complete opposite!) However, our team has been dreaming of this trip for months!  We will work two weeks together here, and I will stay an additional four weeks with the hopes of adding extra help and encouragement to the wonderful missionaries who continue to invest their whole lives into sharing the love of Jesus with the community.

As a church, we are called to build one another up and help to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will listen.  Prayers are more than welcome, and know that they are greatly treasured!  I hope to post again soon of the adventures that have happened so far since the travels began, because they have been pretty exciting!  But for now, I wanted to share this piece as a start.  And to be honest, I won't be surprised if my language starts to sound a bit different as the days continue... I believe I can already see a little mixture between American and English syntax.  So enjoy the mixes!

Thanks to you who read!
In love and Christ,
Brittany
